Mission Work in the Dominican Republic

In 1996 when hurricane Hortensia ravaged through the Dominican Republic, God sent Pastor Eduardo Vazquez from Puerto Rico with the purpose of supplying humanitarian aid for the victims in the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez.

After his return, Pastor Vazquez shared with the congregation his experiences from the mission trip. The impact of his testimony was so great that a second mission trip was coordinated with the purpose to help churches affected by the hurricane.

Every subsequent year we would go two or three times, and the Holy Spirit would perform great miracles and wonders.

The driver of the vehicle where we traveled during our second trip was a servant of God trying to raise a congregation in the city of Factor in the Province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez; however, he encountered much opposition and struggle. The Lord led us to provide support for him. At just three months, the work there flourished and the small congregation birthed there joined with us in our modest efforts for our mission work, IMERS.

The work there continues to advance, grow, and expand. Today, we are part of five congregations, and we rejoice in joyfully serving the Lord.
